Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if my water heater needs repair or replacement?
Age and the problem. Under 8 years old with a bad thermocouple or heating element, repair makes sense. Over 10 years old with a leaking tank, replace it. A leaking tank can't be fixed. We'll tell you which one you're looking at.
How long does a water heater replacement take?
Most swaps take 2 to 3 hours. We drain and pull the old tank, set and connect the new one, and haul the old unit away. You'll have hot water back the same visit.
Should I get gas or electric?
Usually you replace with what you already have, since the lines are already there. If you're thinking about switching, we'll walk you through the cost and what it takes. Gas heats faster, electric is simpler to install.
My water heater is leaking. Is that an emergency?
A leaking tank won't fix itself and can flood a basement. Shut off the water supply to the tank and call us. We get out same day in most cases.
